Chesham Shahi also known as “Royal Spring” is one of the Mughal gardens built around a spring by Ali Mardan, a governor of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, in 1632. The garden is located in the Zaberwan Range, near Rajbhawan (Governor‘s house) overlooking Dal Lake in Srinagar Kashmir.
Nishat Bagh is known as the “Garden of Pleasure” Located on the bank of the Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains as its backdrop, Nishat Bagh is a garden of bliss that commands a magnificent view of the lake beneath the snow-capped Pir Panjal mountain range that stands far away to the west of the valley. The Bagh was designed and built in 1633 by Asif Khan.
Shalimar Bagh known as the “Garden of Love” The Shalimar Bagh is the celebrated royal garden of Kashmir. Emperor Jahangir was so fascinated with the garden that he called it “one of the sights of Kashmir.” Shalimar Bagh is located on the northeast side of Lake Dal, In the evening Drive back to the hotel. Today After breakfast proceed to Gulmarg’s “Meadow of Flowers” Discovered by the Kashmiri romantic poet in the 16th century who was inspired by its grassy slopes covered with wildflowers. In winter Gulmarg looks more beautiful due to heavy snowfall, and turns into India’s premier Ski resort in winter. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and the highest golf course with 18 holes. Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel in Gulmarg.
Today After Breakfast you can enjoy Gondola Cable Car (Optional/On Direct Payment Basis) offers rides to the upland meadows of Kongdori and beyond to the top of Apharwat range to a height of 14000 ft. for viewing the Himalayan Peaks in summer and for downhill skiing in winter, evening return back to Srinagar. After breakfast leave for Sonamarg. The name Sonamarg is derived from two Kashmiri words “Son” & “Marg” which means “Gold” & “Meadow”, when put together it means “Meadow of Gold” The drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg is very beautiful as you will pass through some towns and villages, at many places you can enjoy the view of paddy fields with rivers flowing on one side, Upon arrival at Sonamarg you can visit Thajwas Glacier & Zojila Pass (Optional/On Direct Payment Basis). Enjoy your morning meal and proceed to Kargil via Zojila pass and Grass Valley. On the way catch the glimpses of the famous Tiger Hill Tololing which played an important role in the Kargil War. Kargil War Memorial will be another interesting place to cover en route. Reach Kargil town and check into the hotel.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and hit the roads to Leh. We will make our way through Mulbek, Namika La, Fotula La, Lamayuru, Khaltse, and uleytokpo. Highlights of the tour will be Alchi Monastery, Magnetic Hill, and river rafting at Neemu (Sangam point of Indus and Zanskar rivers). Resume your trip to cover Gurudwara Pather Sahib and the hall of fame museum en route. Reach Leh and check into the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
After an early breakfast, we drive to Nubra Valley crossing Khardung-la-pass – the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380 ft. Nubra Valley is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram range and the Ladakh range of the Himalayas. On the way visit Diskit Monastery. Check-in at the camp and later Evening visit the Sand Dunes. Here you can enjoy a camel ride on the Bactrian camel which is known for its double hump (at its own cost). If you like you can also attend a cultural show where the locals display their folk dance (at your own cost). Return to the camp for dinner.
Leave early morning towards Pangong Lake via Shyok the route taken to Nubra Valley – Agham – Shyok Village – Durbuk- Tangste – Pangong Tso (Lukung).
This route is a little tough and very much dependent upon weather on a particular day, just in case it is not operational on the day you are supposed to take this journey, we would use the alternate route via Leh city (longer but safer). Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m) is a long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly 6 to 7 kilometers at its widest point and over 130km in length. It is bisected by the international border between India and China. Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop of the lake, one rarely feels so close to nature and the environment and the scenery is an unforgettable day trip. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay.
