Vashist springs and temple in a tiny hamlet situated on the bank of Beas River that turns towards Rohtang. It is well known for its hot sulphur springs and temples. Nehru Kund is Located at a distance of 5 kms from Manali on National Highway to Leh, Nehru Kund is a natural spring of cold water. It is named after the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who used to drink water from this spring during his stay in Manali. It is believed that the water of the spring comes down from the Bhrigu lake which is situated at an elevation of about 4,300 metres in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The place is extremely popular among nature lovers and photography buffs. One can spend a peaceful moment amidst lush greenery and serene surroundings.
Old Manali refers to the more antiquated part of town. Today after breakfast at 8:00 or 9:00 am leave to Hunder village of Nubra valley by crossing Kardungla pass 18380 feet above sea level. Kardungla pass is one of the highest motorable pass in the world.Enroute visit 14th century Deskit monastery and recently built 107 feet Maitreya Buddha Statue located on the top of hill, at their panoramic view of villages of Nubra valley. Then proceed to Hunder village 5 km from Deskit monastery and you will arrive Hunder village around 12:30 or 1:30 pm have your lunch in restaurant and then enjoy double hump camel ride at Hunder sand dune. Overnight at Hunder village in Kora valley Camp.
Today after early morning breakfast leave to Pangong Lake via Shayok valley and you will reach Pangong Lake at 12:00 or 1:00 PM. Spend sometimes at there to enjoy majestic view of Pangong Lake and do some photography. On the bank of Lake Dozen of small seasonal restaurants which serve both Indian, continental and chicness cuisine. Have lunch there in restaurant. After lunch return back to Leh via Changla pass, it will be 4 or 6 hours journey. You will be reached Leh at evening around 6:00 or 7:00 PM.
